With this engine, drivers will receive up to 7,000-pound towing capacity.

The most powerful engine on the Colorado? It’s a Duramax® 2.8L turbo diesel engine producing 181 horsepower and a commanding 369 lb-ft of torque. Easily bring a small camper along for the ride, with up to 7,700 pounds max trailer weight. Four-wheel drive models have a max capability of 7,600 pounds.

TOWING TECHNOLOGY

There are some towing technologies to discover on the Chevy Colorado, which can make your driving and towing experience a lot easier. The available Tow/Haul mode will adjust the automatic transmission shift schedule when trailering, so the engine isn’t hunting for that next gear when a heavy tow job may be in progress.

Active Tow is a new feature, which allows you to line up a hitch and trailer with easy. Put the vehicle in reverse and press the Active Tow button on the rear camera screen. A guiding line will help you center the hitch ball and trailer coupler. This is standard on the ZR2 model and available on Colorado models with the Tow/Haul mode. Safety features like Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Alert are available.
